The right choice in kids bedding can make a big difference in how the child reacts to his room, enjoys his room, and in how he or she learns to keep his or her room neat.

When youngsters are first learning to make the bed, one of the best ways to convince the child to keep his room clean and neat is to emphasis how much he likes his comforter or his bedspread.  Children have a tendency to want to keep the things in their lives that they really like clean and neat.  If the child is a big fan of Dora the Explorer or Sponge Bob Square Pants, he or she will be more likely to want to take care of his bedding if it is in the design or pattern of his favorite character.

Sponge Bob Square Pants Comforter is a favorite choice for little boys in particular. Sponge Bob remains one of the Saturday morning favorites for boys and girls alike. Some kids love their favorite Saturday morning television characters.  Other prefer comforters and sheets that make them feel like Mom or Dad.  For those kids perhaps a John Deere theme would work best.  Some would prefer camouflage bedding for the bedroom, especially if Dad is serving in the military.

Of course, as the little man grows his tastes in kids bedding will change.  One year he may love Sponge Bob, the next he may want to be a little soldier.  With the wide variety of bedding for kids today there are many inexpensive ways to keep up with the child and his preferences.

Girls may outgrow Dora the Explorer and decide on a theme for her bedroom decor that is more like Mom's with softer colors and pastel roses.

Whether we are talking about a little girl or a little boy, there are ways to save when purchasing kids bedding.  One of the best ways is to select the lighter color or the more neutral color in the comforter for the sheets.  Chances are the sheets will match a color in the child's next choice.

However, the true advantage of purchasing bedding that appeals to the child is that it will get his or her attention at least for a while.  It is the perfect time and tool to teach the child how to make the bed and keep his or her room neat.
